Wyverns are classified under semi dragons, halfway between dragons and serpents. They are a legendary winged creature with two legs and a barbed tail. Some crypto zoologists believe they are surviving pterodactyls ( from the Greek meaning "winged finger") which were extinct 65 million years ago.

Karthos measures 33 inches high, 20 inches deep, with a 46 inch wingspan. Made from recycled copper and brass, this is an assemblage. The head, arms, legs and upper tail area are made from 1/16" thick copper sheet. The wings (hammered with a ball peen hammer on a sandbag), scales and lower tail are 20 0z. copper sheet. The fingers in the wings are brass rod. The breast plates are 1/16" brass sheet . The teeth are made from old brass screws. Glaring from the beast head are two painted glass taxidermy eyes. Brazed construction. There is no finish on the metal, so if left outdoors he will patina naturally.

The dragon is built around a 3/8" diameter brass rod armature and mounted on a block of rough hewn granite. It is not locked into the base and may be removed and mounted in a sound location by drilling two holes 3/8" diameter 4" deep into a suitable substance i.e. stone, concrete, wood blocking. Suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
